Brock Purdy leads a 49ers comeback from a 17-point

The San Francisco 49ers, led by Brock Purdy, were in danger of losing the conference championship game because they needed a spark to come back from a significant deficit.

San Francisco's season was spared thanks to an incredible catch made by Brandon Aiyuk.

The Niners overcame a 17-point deficit at halftime to defeat the Detroit Lions 34-31 on Sunday and advance to the Super Bowl thanks to Purdy's 51-yard pass that ricocheted off a defender's facemask and into Aiyuk's hands.

After falling to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl four years prior, the 49ers (14-5) tied the NFC championship game with 17 points in eight minutes of the third quarter. They then gained the upper hand in the fourth quarter to secure a rematch with Kansas City.

"There was no rah-rah," stated Purdy. Nobody was experiencing panic. Football is being played. This team is full of seasoned players who have encountered many bizarre circumstances. We simply said, "We have to perform our duties."

Thanks to some huge plays by Purdy and poor decisions by the Lions (14-6), including two failed fourth downs in field goal range, San Francisco mounted the fourth comeback ever from 17 points down or more in a conference title game. Detroit was unable to make it to its first Super Bowl as a team.

At halftime, coach Kyle Shanahan stated, "We're not going out like this." "The guys didn't want today to end." We made a hole for ourselves. We were able to get the ball to bounce in the proper direction and made up for our mistakes in the first half, but they continued to play that way in the second half.
